Review Conan: Zero Executor Action overwhelming detective

The 22nd film in the Conan movie series titled Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer (title Detective Conan: Executor Zero) reached the top-grossing animated film in Japan. Let's check out this movie together!

The work is the 22nd film based on Gosho Aoyama's Conan shrinking comic series. Directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa, Detective Conan: The Executioner Zero is the sequel to Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter in 2016.

Movie Conan: Zero Executor

Detective Conan: The Zero Executioner opened with a sudden explosion at the resort and complex built in Tokyo Bay. This is also the place where an important summit is about to take place. During the investigation, the Tokyo police office unexpectedly found fingerprints at the scene that matched Detective Kogoro Mori. Despite Mori's objections, the "drowsy detective" was still arrested and charged in the surprise of both Conan and his daughter Ran.

Determined to search for the same truth, Conan began investigating and uncovering important questions. Why did the persecution happen first, not during the conference? Is Mr. Mori really guilty? And especially the presence of Tooru Amuro - an underground agent in the Black Organization who now plays the trainee of the zinc bearded Mori.

Movie review

Due to the complicated nature of the case, the appearance of Tooru Amuro puts Conan in a deeper position. First appearing in the anime in 2012, the character has so far revealed three different identities: an apprentice detective at the Kogoro Mori office under the pseudonym Rei Furuya, an inspector of the National Security Bureau under the name Zero and the spies merged into the Black Organization with the alias Bourbon. In this episode, Conan will have to solve the case to rescue Mr. Mori, and must decipher each layer of Tooru Amuro's identity - the character considered to be the most complex and mysterious in the series.

The content is quite complex and the characters are interconnected, the movie is definitely not for children and those of you who have never read Conan stories.

In terms of content, this episode still follows the motifs of the previous parts. Although the relationship between the characters appearing in the film is quite complicated, but when watching to about half the movie audience can somewhat guess the culprit. Unlike many previous episodes of Conan, this plot of crime and perpetrator is quite simple, leading to the time to discover and catch the killer quite easily. Instead, the surprise comes from discovering the true identities of the characters that make the audience from surprise to surprise.

With the content lacking such a detective element, Conan: Zero Executor has anything good? Perhaps after so many purely detective movies, this Conan episode focuses on action.

The super action scenes, equally dramatic Mission Imposible or Jame Bond appear dense in the second half of the film. Hard fans of Conan will certainly not be satisfied because these too virtual action scenes are not suitable for a detective movie but especially the main character is an elementary school student.

An interesting plus point in this film is to introduce a lot of good knowledge about the field of law, law enforcement and justice in Japan.

Sound and graphics

In terms of images like the previous parts some panoramic scenes look beautiful and sparkling true Japanese emine. However, in some scenes the characters are quite sketchy making the character movement unnatural looking like a short animation rather than an elaborate movie.

In return, the image is not appreciated, the sound and soundtrack quite good. The dramatic climax of music is very appropriate. The sound of explosions, collisions, the sound of trains, ... are all very realistic that adds to the drama.

In summary, Conan: Zero Executor is not appreciated for the common detective element, but this movie has drama, creativity in content and storytelling. If you compare the choices this week, Conan: Zero Executor and Alpha will be two movies worth watching out with friends.
